Windows 11 is testing a new screen capture tool. Microsoft is currently rolling out the new feature for insiders. These functions will make filming the desktop easier in the future.
- Microsoft has introduced a new feature for screen recording.
- It allows recording of the whole screen content or specific areas.
- Windows Insiders can currently test the tool.
Microsoft will make video recording from your desktop much easier. Instead of the somewhat hidden function in the Xbox toolbar, you can use a new recorder function in the Snipping Tool – formerly “Cut and Sketch” – under Windows 11 in the future.
As the Redmonder in a blog post, update 11.2211.11.0 is currently being rolled out for participants in the Insider program. The change is reflected in the Snipping Tools where you will now find an additional button next to the screenshot button.
Desktop recording made easy
You start recording the whole screen or just selected windows or desktop areas. With a selection tool you can select the desired area. The options are the same as those of the Snipping Tool, except that entire video clips are captured instead of individual images.
It is not yet known when Microsoft will make the tool available to all users. However, since this is a program that is kept up-to-date via the Microsoft Store, we assume that the update will be distributed via this very soon.
