Good news Winter sale: The Crucial P5 1TB NVMe SSD is only $99!
Increasing storage capacity while improving configuration has been the promise of NVMe SSDs since they first appeared. As the standard becomes more democratic and competition more present, the big winner in history is the consumer who can benefit from great promotions, like this Crucial P5 1TB that goes under the 100 euro mark.
While it would be decades before SATA SSDs replaced our good old HDDs, it was only a few more years before NVMe models shook up the hierarchy and got everyone in trouble.
With their very small, practical and cute format, the absence of cables lying around in the tower and above all their incredible speeds, NVMe SSDs have become essential to speed up the launch of the system, applications and especially games.
The NVMe Crucial P5 1TB SSD is usually priced at around $120 and is currently available on Amazon for $99.99.

Crucial P5 1TB, a fast and powerful SSD to improve your PC during sales
If you’re not very familiar with the standards in force, you know that we currently have two generations of NVMe SSDs coexisting, Gen 3 and Gen 4. The latter harnesses the power of PCI Express 4.0 ports to achieve pharaonic speeds to reach more than 7000 MB/s for the fastest. You should contact them if you want to increase the memory of your PS5, for example.
The Crucial P5 1 TB that interests us today is a 3rd generation NVMe SSD. Its speeds are therefore much lower than those of the 4th generation, such as its little brother P5 Plus, but we’re still talking about 3400 MB/s Read and write 3000 MB/s. That’s 5x to 6x faster speeds than SATA SSDs and more than 20x faster than HDDs. With it, your PC starts up in just 10 short seconds and you have practically no loading time in games.

Why an SSD in a PC?
Today there are three types of hard drives to install Windows and save your games, photos or videos:
- conventional hard disk drives (HDD) : These are the ones that have outfitted our PCs for several decades. They have the advantage of being very affordable and offering very large storage capacities (up to 16 TB). On the other hand, their read speed is often around 150 MB/s. For storing your archives, but not for games or the operating system.
- 2.5 inch SATA SSDs : Over the past decade, they have replaced traditional HDDs for storing operating systems and games. So, with these small flat discs, we’ve reduced the 1 to 3 minute Windows startup time to just 10 seconds. Despite being limited by the limitations of SATA connectors, we achieve speeds in the order of 550MB/s, which is 3 to 4 times faster than HDDs.
- PCIe M.2 NVMe SSDs : Behind this rather barbaric code name lies the best of the moment. Speeds between 2000 and 3000 MB/s for Gen 3 models and up to 7000 MB/s for Gen 4 compatible with PS5. They have the peculiarity of resembling RAM sticks and are plugged directly into the motherboard, avoiding cables and further speeding up the launch of your applications.
