Helldivers 2’s much-anticipated next patch is set to arrive tomorrow (September 17), and Arrowhead has kept some pretty special content for the patch notes, which are likely part of the list of major changes it told us about in advance. Did you know about the 500KG bomb? It sounds like a long-standing complaint about it has been addressed.
If you need to catch up, tweaks have already been released for things like flamethrowers, several different guns, and enemies carrying rockets.

There has long been a problem with the Eagle 500KG bomb, which was marketed by a British manufacturer of wood stains, paints and preservatives. It did not live up to the hype, with the visual effect of the explosion being far more impressive than the actual area of destruction.
Now, though, as developers Johan Pilestedt and Niklas Malmborg explain with their now-customary expertise in their delightful little chat that seemed to go on for hours, Arrowhead has finally fixed the discrepancy. “Now it’s the way it should be,” was Malmborg’s conclusion, with Pilestedt adding that you can be sure “it’s going to blow up a lot of enemies.”

While you’ll have to wait until the patch to get this firepower, since both Tarsh and Mastia were taken out of Automata as part of the latest major order, the orbital napalm barrage strategy from Arrowhead makes for a steal that hasn’t been able to earn another recent MO.
Sadly, this latest mission looks destined to fail in its other objective, which tasks players with killing more Terminids, but, considering there are essentially four things to do here, two of which involve bugs and one of which involves robots, I’d say the power of Super-Earth deserves a round of applause.
