It has been known for a few years that mail order companies and streaming giant Amazon want to dedicate themselves to the gaming market. The best known representative of this new market offensive is probably the MMO New World, but apparently this is not the only project.
Apparently, their new multiplayer shooter Crucible should appear in May. The Battle Royale with sci-fi setting According to the developers, the corona virus has been postponed several times, but the team believes a release next month is realistic.
This info comes from an article in the New York Times that is also on Twitter retweeted from the official site of the game

What is Crucible?
Amazon has hardly advertised the game so far: Because of Amazon's rather sparse to nonexistent marketing campaign, an answer to this question is not that easy. The internet giant describes his own game on the official website of Amazon Games Studios as follows:
"Every fight in the Crucible is a fight for survival and control. You will not only compete with your competitors on an equal footing, you will also have to adapt and master all the challenges that the planet itself poses for you."
"You and your teammates will need to work together to destroy alien creatures, conquer goals, and pursue your opponents in pursuit of victory."
It is also interesting to note that there is a link to a page with more information about the game for each of the three previously announced games by the developers on the website already mentioned … except for Crucible. The promotional text is actually almost everything that we know is officially confirmed.
Crucible was announced in 2016: In addition, Amazon published a very short reveal trailer four years ago, in which we still do not have real gameplay, but at least a few details about the game principle:
Crucible wants to turn Battle Royale upside down: We're playing one of twelve characters who must survive on the planet with other player-controlled characters. You have to work together to achieve your goal, but you can also cheat on your teammates. Because only one of the players can win the round. The game is also said to include some form of audience interaction on Twitch.
The game is released in the same month as New World: If everything goes as planned by Amazon's New York Times, we'll know more about Crucible in May. There is also no exact release date yet, so you can stay excited. Also in May, Amazon's biggest project, New World, awaits us. So that you are well prepared for the launch, we have summarized everything important in our guide to New World.
