Rebellion gave Steam a free copy of the game to celebrate the upcoming sequel Evil Genius 2.
In order to request a free copy of the original game, you need to ensure that you have a Steam account and a Rebellion account. After creating a Rebellion account, simply link it to your Steam account to request a free copy.
The game was originally released in 2004, and its sequel is being produced at Elixir Studios. It was not closed until 2005 when Rebellion won an IP.
"Evil Genius 2: World Domination" will land on PC this year.
