The Epic Games Store once again hits the cracks: From now on, all users can secure the multiplayer co-op shooter World War Z, which is based on the movie of the same name, free of charge and forever until April 2, 2020.
Is the game still up to date?
WWZ developer Saber Interactive recently released the last update for Season 2. The crossplay patch lets players play on PC and Xbox One together and delivers some new skins for the Survivor.
But otherwise the studio has been busy since the release and added a horde mode for endless rounds, free additional missions and a few completely new zombie types. New weapons have also been added, such as the grenade launcher and the automatic pistol:

In World War Z, we take on the role of a survivor during a global zombie apocalypse who fights with three other human companions (or bots) through four different story campaigns – these take place in New York, Jerusalem, Moscow or Tokyo. But there is also a dedicated PvP multiplayer.

World War Z explained briefly
Left4Dead is the great role model: In the missions, we have to accomplish various mission objectives, find equipment and new weapons and, of course, kill numerous zombies together with our fellow combatants.
There have never been such zombie hordes: In each level there are passages in which we have to hold a position and protect against hundreds of undead. Various defense systems such as turrets, mortars and electric fences are then available to us. Just like in the film, the zombies pile up into true mountains and even storm walls several meters high.
Six classes with their own skill trees: While the gunslinger can unlock many improvements for ammunition and weapon damage, the pest control agent sets the undead on fire and the doctor keeps your team alive. Of course there is also a large arsenal of weapons with lots of upgrades.
