news hardware Xbox: a new Scottish kilt-style collector’s controller, the trailer in 4K
Microsoft definitely won’t stop: always present to make collector’s editions of its controllers or its consoles, today the manufacturer presents a new version of the Xbox pad dedicated to the whole of Scotland. There is a lot of work behind it.
A single controller for all 20 Xbox players in Scotland
Microsoft loves celebrations. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Xbox brand, the company had therefore launched a special version of its famous controller, proudly showing off new patterns and a slight transparency: something that will surely tickle fans. General, We can say th at the company is pretty good at offering collectible versions of its pads or consoles.
Today, To celebrate twenty years of Xbox in Scotland (yes, that’s right), the American giant has just lifted the veil of a single controller, covered in a traditional green tartan. As a reminder, tartan is nothing more than a wool-based fabric with checkered patterns, symbolic of the entire Celtic culture. There’s even a 4K trailer introducing the controller, check out our player above.
You play a kilt
To do this, Microsoft did not pretend and did not opt for a traditional skin: He visited Gordon Nicolson Kiltmakers, a craft workshop specializing in Scottish kilts and clothing, who came to fit a real tartan on the shifter.
Unfortunately, this Scottish controller appears to be purely volunteer and not specifically for sale: In any case, no link was shared by Microsoft, despite (continuous) public urging, especially in the comments on YouTube or on social networks. Maybe in the near future…
