Microsoft’s cloud gaming feature could soon be expanded to include an important feature, which will noticeably expand the range of games on offer.
Microsoft has been offering Xbox Cloud Gaming in a beta for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members for a long time. In selected gaming regions, Xbox games can be streamed and played over the network on supported devices without a console or PC. However, this option is currently limited to certain titles in the Xbox Game Pass line-up – but that could change in the near future.
According to a new report from The Verge Xbox Cloud Gaming, which was originally launched in 2020, will probably be expanded next month to include the option that gamers can also stream and play purchased Xbox games in their library via the cloud. The number of games supported by Xbox Cloud Gaming is expected to increase dramatically with this feature.
According to the report, streaming purchased Xbox games via Xbox Cloud Gaming will initially be “tested”. It is therefore quite possible that initially only selected players or Xbox Insiders will have access to their game library via streaming before the feature is generally rolled out to the general public of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers.
It was obvious that such a feature could follow sooner or later after Xbox had already emphasized corresponding efforts in 2022. The feature was actually supposed to be made available as early as 2023 – a time window that was obviously clearly missed. But now there seems to be light at the end of the tunnel in this regard.
