During a developer presentation on June 21, Xbox software engineer Morgan Brown took the stage to share some plans around Xbox Game Streaming.During the speech, Brown shared Keyboard and mouse support will be added to Xbox cloud gaming in the future. It has not been announced when this feature will be implemented.

In case you missed it, here’s the official game announcement trailer for the 2022 Xbox and Bethesda Showcase.

The developer demo focused on how Xbox can help developers optimize graphics and reduce lag when streaming games through Xbox Cloud Gaming. However, Morgan Brown did take the time to point out that KBM support will be in the cloud and that developers should strive to have control in their games.

While Xbox consoles have supported keyboards and mice for a while, we still haven’t seen the same support added to Xbox cloud gaming. The cloud service allows subscribers to play a plethora of Xbox games from PCs, laptops, and even mobile devices, as long as they have a stable internet connection and can plug in an Xbox controller.

KBM’s support for the cloud will eliminate the need for an Xbox controller, making Xbox cloud gaming more accessible to players who don’t have an Xbox gamepad or who prefer to use KBM’s controls.

No information has been released on when support will roll out, but Morgan Brown encourages developers to implement KBM support in their games from now on. With any luck, this could mean we’ll see keyboard and mouse support for Xbox Cloud Gaming soon!
