The Xbox Game Pass subscription has turned out to be an absolute success story for Microsoft. In the future, this will probably be supplemented by a coveted feature: family sharing.
There have been rumors in the past about a possible family release that could reach Xbox Game Pass. The implementation now seems to be getting closer to decisive steps, because according to reports Microsoft is already testing the so-called “Family Plan”.
Accordingly, the Xbox Game Pass subscription offer will be expanded in the future to include such a family release. Up to four people in a family or household should then be able to use a Game Pass subscription. It remains to be seen to what extent this will be associated with higher costs.
Detached from this, the feature is currently being tested by Xbox insiders in Colombia and Ireland. As part of a preview, they can share their Game Pass subscription with the said number of users and thus also make all games available via cloud, PC and Xbox.
If you want to participate in the preview in these countries, you must purchase Xbox Game Pass – Insider Preview Game Pass from the Microsoft Store. Family Sharing members do not need to be registered as Xbox Insiders themselves, but must at least live in the same country as the subscriber. The availability in both countries is initially also limited in terms of quantity for test purposes. Additionally, Xbox All Access members cannot take the test at this time.
