"And our xCloud project now has hundreds of thousands of users in phase preview across seven countries, with eight more to be added in the coming weeks. "Amy Hood, Chief Financial Officer, notes that gaming revenue in the quarter was "better than expected" thanks to the "strong growth" of Xbox Game Pass and Minecraft. This performance is expected to continue in the current quarter -from April to June-.
Income falls by hardware
However, Other income has decreased, such as income from hardware, which falls 20% due to the price reduction, according to Microsoft. It should also be borne in mind that the current generation is preparing to take over and that the Xbox Series X will be launched at the end of the year. Overall, revenue from games has decreased by 1% compared to last year while content and services rose by 2%, again, blamed on confinement measures in many countries.
