A Microsoft gaming handheld is scheduled to come this year – according to a new report, probably in cooperation with Asus.
The speculation about a new gaming handheld may be going on around the Xbox brand this year. As a reminder: Far from the considerations related to a first party xbox handheld from Microsoft himself, which could possibly appear for the next generation of consoles, there should be efforts to publish a gaming handheld in cooperation with a third-party provider in 2025.
Now there is a further report by the normally well -informed Tom Warren of The Vergeafter which this third -party manufacturer should be Asus. Accordingly, Microsofte is apparently cooperating for the planned gaming handheld with the manufacturer of the ROG Ally in order to publish a corresponding product with unmistakable Xbox branding and support of the Microsoft Store and Game Pass.
According to Warren, both ASUS and Microsoft should strive for the gaming handheld that arise in cooperation to actually be released by the end of 2025. Warren himself has his doubts in this regard, so that the further developments remain.
The collaboration with ASUS should help to further standardize the Windows and Xbox platforms. The aim of both companies is to bring the best of Xbox and Windows together.
Previously, it had already become known that the product was being developed under the name Project Kennan. In addition, it is now said that the work on the platform bears the name Project Bayside.
