Microsoft is launching a new xbox It hopes the safety feature will curb toxic behavior in multiplayer games with chat systems.
This latest security feature allows you to capture and report 60-second video clips of inappropriate voice activity in any multiplayer game via in-game voice chat. It works with Xbox One or Xbox Series X/S and is backward compatible with Xbox 360 games.
If you experience or witness inappropriate speech behavior, you can “catch it now, report it later” which will minimize the impact on your game. When you’re done playing, you can record voice events that you believe violate Xbox Community Standards and submit them as evidence to the security team for review.
While this feature works similar to how you capture game content, clips captured using the voice review feature will not appear in your recent captures. Clips also cannot be modified, shared, or downloaded, and only you have access to the clip until it is submitted with the report.
Xbox will not save or upload voice clips without your consent. You have full control over the initiation of the reporting process. The clip will remain online for 24 hours on your console, and if you don’t submit the clip within 24 hours online, Xbox will send you a flag alert.
If you decide not to report it, the clip will be automatically deleted from your console. However, if you do file a report, you will be sent a notification as to whether Xbox has taken action.
The player reporting and evidence collection system covers all content such as images, texts, videos, and voices.
This feature will be available first to Alpha and Alpha Skip-Ahead Xbox Insiders to gather feedback before making it available community-wide.
