Oh dear AI … hardly any area where it does not find its way. Microsoft has now presented its own AI assistant Copilot for the Xbox Series X/S, which should actively support you.
It goes into being. Microsoft has now introduced Copilot for Gaming as part of the Xbox Podcast, a new AI assistant for the Xbox consoles. It should actively support you and even help you become a better player.
“Copilot for gaming is based on three principles: performance, adaptability and personalization,” says Microsoft. “It is said to help players in different ways, from personalized game recommendations and a seamless game facility to helpful coaching and maintaining contacts to friends.”
During the podcast, some examples of the integration and use of Copilot for Gaming were presented. In Overwatch 2, for example, the AI gives tips for choosing a character in front of a match. Then the AI explains to the player why he failed miserably and suggests choosing a different character. In the case of Minecraft, a player interviews the AI and then receives step-by-step instructions. Copilot should therefore offer players in the game if he has problems or does not know what to do.
Copilot for gaming is currently still in an early phase. “Exploration and concept evidence,” says Xbox Corporate Vice President of Gaming Ai Fatima Kardar in the video. “But the really great thing is that you help us to understand what we have to do on the platform.”
Apart from coaching and tutorials, Copilot for Gaming should also help players search for new games or in connection with friends and communities and of course you can also chat with the AI. According to Kardar, the player should keep full control over the interaction with the AI.
One consolation: It is not yet clear when Copilot for Gaming will be integrated, especially since the feature will surely go through the Xbox Insider program.
