Microsoft has revealed some interesting features of its next-generation Xbox Series X console.
Xbox Program Management Director Jason Ronald described a new spatial audio feature called Audio Ray Tracing in the podcast released today by Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb (transcribed by The Verge)-developed to help build better ones in it Immersive Xbox Series X games.
"With the introduction of hardware-accelerated ray tracing in the Xbox Series X, we are actually able to enable a whole new set of scenes, whether it is more realistic lighting, better reflections, we can even use it for things like spatial audio and have Ray-traced audio, "Ronald explained.
As we reported earlier this month, Microsoft will talk more about spatial audio at next month's Game Developers Conference, and senior audio experts from tech companies will host talks about them with developers and with the audio giant. Dolby Collaboration Speech.
Larry Hryb said that the Xbox Series X also has the ability to resume multiple games from a paused state. Although this is similar to what is already available on the Xbox One, whether you switch between games, resume from standby, or restart from the console, the Xbox Series X will be able to resume multiple games.
"I had to restart because I did a system update, and then I went back to the game, and then back to the game," he said. "So it can survive the restart."
However, Microsoft is not the only company developing audio improvements for its next-generation systems. Sony has confirmed that the upcoming PS5 will have 3D audio integration.
Speaking of the Xbox Series X, we have absolutely got all the in formation about the console so far.
