Microsoft will apparently also integrate Steam in his Xbox interface in the future. A corresponding graphic was apparently accidentally placed online in advance.
On the English -speaking Xbox Blog a new entry was published, which apparently accidentally confirmed an upcoming integration of Steam on the Xbox interface. The article was provided with a graphic of the said Xbox interface, on which a tab for Steam has recently been found. This graphic was quickly removed offline, but the network is known to forget nothing, so that you can continue to look at it further up to this message.
The entry was written by Leo Olebe, VP of Global Partnerships at Xbox, on the occasion of the GDC 2025 and bears the name “Opening a Billion Doors With Xbox”. It is about a number of devices – from the laptop to the smartphone to ROG Ally – that are able to present Xbox games. The game library offers various filter options on the graphic, including the display of only installed games, title in the game pass or even such on Steam.
Coupled with the title of the article, it can be assumed that Microsoft will take a number of new partnerships for the Xbox cosmos and continue the doors. Accordingly, the Steam library could probably be integrated and made accessible via Xbox interface in the future.
This in turn also fits well with younger rumors about an Xbox handheld that is to be launched in cooperation with a third manufacturer in 2025. According to reports, Microsoft works for this with Asus, although despite Xbox branding, it should be a PC-focused handheld, which should therefore compete with Steam Deck, Rog Ally and others. A steam integration into the Xbox interface would make sense in this context.
In the recent past, Microsoft had emphasized that he wanted to pursue an open and accessible philosophy with his Xbox platform. Players should be able to be able to be able to play the games you want wherever you want to play. Of course, such a vision brings with it to open your own Xbox platform for competing platforms.
The official announcement of a steam integration via Xbox interface is initially still pending.
