Yakuza: Like a Dragon will support Xbox Series X Smart Delivery by default. This means that players who buy the title for Xbox One will receive a free upgrade to the Xbox Series X version. With this function, saves are not lost and are also migrated.
At its core, Yakuza: Like a Dragon is an underdog story. The new protagonist Ichiban Kasuga, member of a rather insignificant Yakuza family, has to work hard for his luck. He was atoned for a crime he did not commit to protect his patriarch and father figure Masumi Arakawa. After sitting for 18 years, he discovers that his former clan has been almost completely smashed. The few remaining members are hunted on the street – his old patriarch may be responsible. Ichiban feels that he has been cheated on. He wants to find out the truth.
Together with the new characters and the new setting, Yakuza: Like a Dragon leads a dynamic RPG combat system. Ichiban himself is a hardcore RPG fan and – to stay focused in the fight – he imagines the fight as in his favorite games. Players can choose 19 jobs and improve their skills in them. These stand out from genre-typical jobs – there are no warriors or magicians, but players become bodyguards, musicians and many more.
Yakuza: Like a Dragon will be released simultaneously for Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Windows 10 and Steam. The Day one– Version can now be physically pre-ordered. Details about the edition will follow.
