“Yellowstone” is one of Paramount+’s best-known series, which is why the second part of season 5 was highly anticipated. Since November 10, 2024, new episodes have been released every week in the USA that further deepen the entanglements of the Dutton family on their ranch in Montana.
After Kevin Costner left the western series, “Yellowstone” officially ends after the 5th season. But there is reason to be happy: series creator Taylor Sheridan is far from finished with his series universe and has planned another spin-off with Beth Dutton and Rip. We'll tell you all the information about it so far.

The new “Yellowstone” spin-off will be about well-known characters like Beth Dutton, played by Kelly Reilly. (Source: Paramount+)
If you can't get enough of “Yellowstone”, there are already plenty of prequels on Paramount+ like “1883” and “1923” with Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren, which deal with the prequel story. But now a planned sequel is set to continue the story of the Dutton family after patriarch John Dutton suffered a tragic fate.
The spin-off will be about central characters such as Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) and the plot will directly follow the finale of the 5th season of “Yellowstone”. In the USA, this will air on Paramount+ on December 15, 2024. It is not yet known when exactly the sequel will appear on the streaming service.
The reason why there should be a completely new series instead of a 6th season of “Yellowstone” is probably due to the distribution of the license rights. While an exclusive streaming contract was agreed with Peacock in advance of the western series being broadcast in 2018, this no longer applies to the sequel, which is why Paramount Global would once again have the sole rights to the new spin-off.
If you want to continue watching “Yellowstone” and the second part of season 5 in the meantime, you can now watch the hit series in Germany with a little trick. All you need to do is use a VPN provider of your choice; we'll show you how to do it.
