2024 is kicking off with the creators of Daggerfall Unity releasing the highly anticipated remaster of the second mainline entry in the Elder Scrolls series. Now, the creators of Daggerfall Unity are planning to make their own game in the style of a classic RPG, but don’t expect it to happen. If all goes well, it will arrive soon.
In case you missed it, developer Gavin Clayton and his colleagues were finally able to launch this massive mod over the holidays, which has been in development for nine years and gives Daggerfall a more modern and accessible makeover. Now, the modder plans to try his hand at developing an original game inspired by a 1996 jaunt through High Rock and about seven thousand other locations.

After telling Dualshockers he has started developing his own “Daggerfall style” game, which would ideally have “[a] A vast world, complex systems, [and] “Mod support” is similar to what’s available in Daggerfall Unity, and Clayton provided some additional insight into how he’s currently progressing with those plans.
