Nier will celebrate its 15th anniversary later this year, and to mark the occasion, Square Enix hosted a special live broadcast.
This April 22, 15 years since the release of Nier released on PS3 and Xbox 360, the title has received quite a lot of reviews, but it's obviously a difficult one to be born due to its sequel Nier Automata and itself. A Beloved Series of Trust. Re-made in 2021, not to mention (now discontinued) mobile games, books, etc. So as part of celebrating its anniversary, Square Enix will host a live broadcast on its official YouTube channel on April 19, which will “provide the latest information about events and merchandise and plan to be commemorating the 15th anniversary Meetings and negotiations come from developers.”

There will obviously be a mini live show during the program and will last about two and a half hours. Of course, creator Yoko Taro, series producer Tasuke and composer Keiichi Okabe will also be there with senior game designer Taura Takahisa and Grimoire Weiss/Pod 042 voice actor Hiroki Yasumoto. Now, the sound of live broadcasts is as exciting as this, especially given the key art of reincarnation, which is a mobile game that stands out and I won’t jump the gun yet, as live broadcasts in Japan don’t always include any big events news.

However, it's the 15th anniversary, and Zito does indeed tease the next game of the series in a year-end interview in 2024, and something more mysterious, so it's entirely possible to announce something like that. Nier Automata is actually eight years old today, which makes me uncomfortable, so it would be nice if another Nier game could get into my next decade. For the moment, we just need to keep our fingers crossed to show that something will appear.
