With few exceptions, PS5 players are missing out on major exclusives that are desperately needed, and this will continue to be the case, especially with this promising title.
After the highly acclaimed Phantom Blade Zero made a strong impression with its gameplay at its last major presentation at the Summer Game Fest 2024, it is unfortunately still a long way from being released as a console exclusive for PS5 and PC. At least that is what YouTuber JorRaptor suggests, who was able to try out the game and spoke to many people close to the matter.
Phantom Blade Zero on PC and PS5, unfortunately not currently
Many upcoming exclusives for the PS5 console don’t necessarily arrive where we expected them to. Ballad of Antara, Lost Soul Aside, Where Winds Meet or in this case Phantom Blade Zero are actually three promising exclusives developed by Chinese studios. Like a certain Black Myth Wukong, which finally comes out on August 20, these titles have a very long development time.
This would also be the case with Phantom Blade Zero, which is what interests us here. This was the subject of numerous talks this summer. We could therefore have expected that S-GAME, the studio behind this promising PS5 console exclusive, would be well advanced in its work, with a possible release in 2025. Unfortunately, this would not be the case, according to numerous previews about him, including that of the YouTuber JorRaptor. In a recent video that shows us the gameplay of this action RPG reminiscent of the excellent Sekiro, we learn that we will have to be very patient with it. There would actually be talk of a planned release in autumn 2026.
In the meantime, players interested in this upcoming title on PS5 and PC can see new gameplay footage courtesy of JorRaptor. That’s what we’ll have to make do with, it seems, before the very ambitious and promising Phantom Blade Zero is talked about again until its seemingly very distant release in two long years.
