Lumos lets you discover a hidden werewolf story at Hogwarts.
The Lumos spell in Hogwarts Legacy is actually pretty lame to say the least. Occasionally you have to use it for a few puzzles in the course of the story or you can use it to catch butterflies, otherwise it usually only serves you as an extravagant flashlight.
However, there is a tragic werewolf story hidden in the old walls of the Hogwarts magic school, which you can only discover with the magic spell Lumos. We explain to you what is behind it.

The werewolves on the walls
Here you will find the secret: Reddit-User Comrade Comrade was the first to discover the secret of the werewolf story. To find the secret story, you must go to a hidden room behind the tapestry in the dungeon of the clock tower.
That awaits you: In the secret room in the dungeon you will not only find a creepy statue of a werewolf, but also the walls are covered with colorfully illustrated tapestries that tell a story.
This werewolf statue is also waiting for you in the Hogwarts dungeon.
The werewolf story without lumos: If you look at the tapestries normally, you can see the story of a new mother who lives happily with her child in a small village or in a castle. However, their home is then attacked by a werewolf, which the villagers can hunt together and scare away. Mother and child end up rejoicing hand in hand.
It gets dark with Lumos: If you activate the Lumos spell and touch the tapestries with your wand, they show an alternative and significantly darker version of the story. Here, too, the young mother gives birth to her newborn at the beginning, but is then immediately bitten by the werewolf. Since she poses a great danger to her neighbors, she is immediately hunted down by the other villagers. In the end, the woman is seen as a werewolf, howling at the moon – forever doomed to be separated from her child.

Just like the coolest shop in Hogsmeade, there are no quests, side quests or achievements behind the werewolf saga. You can glean a manual page here, but solving the hidden mystery is just a lovely detail that the developers have built in for all players who explore even the darkest corners of Hogwarts.
