Although I’ve been dealing with Hogwarts Legacy for many days now, the makers of the game never fail to surprise me. This time it’s about an official tuning tip, which I personally have never encountered in this form.
He can be found on the official support site about problems with the Steam version. After all, general tips like updating drivers, verifying game files, and lowering graphics details are actually followed by a titled section Keyboard RGB settings
.
It states that it can lead to problems if your own keyboard special RGB settings
supported, which are not further defined. According to the description, the difficulties can occur in all game situations, i.e. when starting, loading and playing the game itself. If you don’t have a keyboard with RGB lighting or are generally looking for performance tips for Hogwarts Legacy, it’s best to take a look at our tuning -Guide by:
Hogwarts Legacy on PC
The best settings for maximum FPS
What to do and what’s the point?
In order to adjust the potentially disruptive settings, you should change two entries in an INI file. However, it should be said in advance that the change did not lead to any noticeable or measurable improvement in performance for me, at least not on the three PCs with RGB keyboards with which I have tested them so far.
Still a bit annoying: The step-by-step instructions are incorrect. So it says there, among other things, that the folder C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Local\ExampleGame
Hogwarts Legacyand not
ExampleGame.
Also, I can’t find a file with the specified name UserSettings. ini
the two parameters mentioned RGBPeripherals
and RGBKeyLighting
. Instead, the file is named from the subfolder Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor
with me GameUserSettings.ini
and the only RGB parameter RGBPeripherals enabled
.
Sure, the guide is close. But if you’re going to write a step-by-step guide, then it should be as precise as possible – as is hopefully the case with all of our numerous guides for the game (and if something isn’t quite right, feel free to tell us in the comments under the respective article):
Since the evening of February 10, not only those who pre-order the Deluxe or Collector’s Edition can play Hogwarts Legacy, but everyone. You can find out how good the previous ratings for the game are in the article Hogwarts Legacy on Steam: The overwhelming majority of players absolutely agree.
Let us know in the comments if you’ve come across such a strange tuning tip for a game. And if you’ve already been able to play Harry Potter and have an RGB keyboard, please tell us about your previous experiences with the game and in particular with the tuning tip described here – we’re curious to see if it helps you!
