The video platform YouTube has been working on the integration of podcasts for a long time. Among other things, the first users have noticed significant changes in YouTube Music. However, this is not the only change that is currently in the works.
How Gizmochina reported that YouTube has now introduced its own podcast tabs for channels. These appear next to the tabs for playlists, videos, community, etc. On the one hand, this should make it easier for users of the platform to find podcast content. On the other hand, it also allows channel operators to upload content specifically to that channel.
Currently, the podcast area mainly consists of video content. Apparently, however, Google now also requires operators to upload square cover images. This could indicate that audio content will also be made available in the future – possibly primarily within the mobile app in order to save data volume and storage space.
