Like any sport, boxing is a matter of taste. Some even get up in the middle of the night when two people overseas get into the ring to look around get to know each other better
, the others describe this activity as barbaric and condemn the violence. But one thing is certain: regular, hard training is essential to be able to practice this sport successfully.
The well-known YouTuber and talented hobbyist Michael Reeves wanted to take exactly this training to the next level – with the help of a machine! The goal: to get fit in time to attend the charity event Creator Clash
participate, do respectably and ideally keep all their teeth. With success? Yes – but certainly not because of his mechanical trainer!

Training despite being lazy – does that fit together?
The YouTuber’s idea sounds simple and promising: he wants to use targeted electrical stimulation to train the arm muscles, which are particularly important in boxing, without sweating and traipsing to the gym for weeks. This so-called EMS training (Elektro-Myo-Stimulation
in this country under Reizstrom
summarized) is widespread among professional athletes and as a form of therapy.
Don’t try it at home! As amusing as the story about Michael Reeves’ self-training may be, please note one thing: The experiments described in this article are not without controversy and, if used improperly, are above all dangerous. Electrical impulses sent through the body incorrectly can have serious consequences, from nerve damage to life-threatening cardiac arrhythmias. Please do not try any of it on your body without professional and medical supervision.
In the case of Michael Reeves’ do-it-yourself solution, however, the success is manageable – most of the time his arm just wobbles around uncontrollably, every now and then he accidentally hits himself. While that might be amusing to us viewers, what is is the purpose of this video but does not help him in his preparation for the big tournament.

But the targeted impulses on his muscles give him a wonderfully weird idea: He’s expanding his boxing utility into some sort of absurd co-op gaming robot. Screwing, welding, programming – at the end of the conversion, Reeves presents the result to his friends in his garage at home (can be seen in the video from minute 06:08).
The two human game characters
are wired and fixed to a machine that can be moved back and forth so that they can no longer move on their own. The two players, on the other hand, hold two standard Xbox controllers and can contract different muscles in the arms of the competitors at the touch of a button. What follows is five minutes of mayhem, madness and laughter.
Buoyed by this success, Michael Reeves finally travels to the Creator Clash and does surprisingly well there with a win. The (totally predictable) solution follows as a conclusion at the end of the video: Of course, Reeves had a human boxing teacher the whole time who could prepare him better for the challenge than his self-made one robot
could have done it at home.
As far as our summary of this weird, but also very entertaining event from the category Inconsequential but funny
. Do you know where there will also be all kinds of robots? In Atomic Heart! Shortly before the release we have the concentrated load of information for you:
