With hardly any other component of a PC you can be as creative as with the housing. No matter what shape or material – it feels like a PC case has been built from everything. Examples of this are the Lego case from MSI, which you can see in the video below, or Cooler Master, which comes with the Shark X want to sell a PC that looks like a shark.
Meanwhile, modders can get inspiration and ideas for unique PCs from image generator AIs. The Redditor is the starting point Hybective
While the various designs aren’t always realistic, let alone easy or even feasible – which also explains why we haven’t seen some of the AI designs in this vein before. But at least they make a potentially cool template for real builds (via PC Games Hardware).

Not just an AI design, but a real case: MSI builds gaming PCs out of Lego
Greetings from the Gamesphere
Looking at the different designs, you might think that they are inspired by Wheatley from Portal 2. In truth, the Redditor’s inspiration lies much further in the past.
In the old Nickelodeon series Drake & Josh, the so-called “Gamesphere” appeared in some episodes, a spherical game console that was an obvious parody of the Nintendo Gamecube. Since then, Hybective has wished for a reality with spherical PCs.
That’s why the term “sphere” was often part of the text instruction for the AI. One of the commands was something like “Sphere ITX PC build hyper realistic”.
Hybective even wants to replicate one of the designs itself. He is an experienced 3D modeler and owns a 3D printer. In a comment, he writes that he will soon be ordering the first parts for the PC and will be approaching the project. But designing a PC in a sphere is definitely not going to be easy.
For example, the American manufacturer of ergonomic office supplies VIVO already had the idea for a spherical PC case. However, this was quickly discarded as it was very difficult to design one that not only looks good but also offers space for the standardized components without having to make the case very large.
Housing manufacturer InWin had the same idea and even completed the plan. The Inwin Winbot is a spherical PC case that is not only huge and complex, but also extremely expensive. It cost 4000 dollars at the time and was only available in a limited edition. You can read more about this in our article that we wrote about it at the time:
