Zenimax Online Studios Confirms Working on New Unannounced AAA IP
In a recent tweet by Quentin Cobb who is now the Senior Designer for Zenimax Online, they have confirmed that the developer is working on an unannounced AAA IP. He is joining the studio along with Ben Jones who is Creative Director, formerly at Daybreak Games in the same position as well as Lead Designer at EA DICE.

In the further tweets Cobb explains the they have “formed the basis of a new satellite studio” that is based in San Diego. The studio is currently on the lookout for a number of roles to fill, in different locations. Other members of the San Diego studio include Alex Sulman as Lead Game Designer, John Bautista as Principal Combat Designer, Chris a Kovach as Animator, and TJ Madigan as Principal Engineer.
There is no news about exactly what game they are working on. However by looking through jobs roles working on a new IP, posts mention requiring open-world experience and online GaaS experience.
Last year there was also news that the Zenimax studio was working on a new game, working on an entirely new engine. While the game is in development, their priority for their current MMORPG Elder Scrolls Online and they are still “committed”. This could be the same game that has been confirmed here. If that’s the case, it was previously mentioned in job posts they were looking for roles with experience in “progression systems, weapon and gear design, roleplaying systems, puzzles and mini games” as well, also mention open-world.
For now it’s a bit of a mystery about exactly what they’re next project is, whether it be another MMORPG or something else.
