For most of the Nintendo Switch’s life, Nintendo has been plagued by lawsuits regarding Joy-Con drifting. This has resulted in Nintendo offering free Joy-Con repairs, even if they are out of warranty. Meanwhile, the company patented some “Smart Fluid” joystick technology last fall, which could be Nintendo’s plan to stop Joy-Con drift in the future.
As for the lawsuits, the 2 big ones are nearing completion. As of last week, the plaintiffs of the 2 cases and Nintendo have been confirmed to have reached an agreement to dismiss both cases. One lawsuit was originally filed in 2019 and the other in 2020. You can see the tweet breaking the news below.
