Pokemon Scarlet and Purple they are a reality, igamesnews, and it seems that Europe is going to have an important role in the new titles.
The ninth generation of Pokémon is here, and it is more than evident that the new region will be based on the Iberian Peninsula or, at least, in the Spanish country; good proof of this are the continuous references that we could see in the trailer from last Pokémon Day.
In this article, we will talk about all of them. Do you want to know what they are? Then do not hesitate and continue reading.
Recognizable landmarks
In the three minutes that the presentation trailer lasted, many details of Pokémon Scarlet and Purple and the new region, whose name is still unknown, were already shown.
One of the most striking was the following:
It is a large building with various towers, which could be a new gym or the headquarters of the next Pokemon League.
While it is true that we will still have to wait to find out what this place is, there is no doubt that it is a Pokeversion of the Holy Familythe basilica located in Barcelona designed by the architect Antonio Gaudí.
Bearing this in mind, the obvious can be concluded: that one of the cities of Pokémon Scarlet and Purple will be based on Barcelona
Now, this will not be the only city in Europe that will be represented in this new Pokémon title. In the trailer, in addition, we could see this other image:
What is this building based on? It is still early to tell, since the reference is not as obvious as in the previous case, but it could be the Plaza Mayor in Madrid.
Now, in the previous image palm trees appear in the background, so everything indicates that it is a coastal city. Therefore, we will have to wait to confirm whether or not it is Madrid.
A wide variety of locations and references
But not everything we saw in the trailer are cities, but the video also showed us other images that could refer to a series of specific places in the country, such as the following:
Yes there are something characteristic of Europe since Don Quixote de la Mancha, are the windmills. In the next installments of our pocket monsters, it seems that there will be a place in the new region where we can find them, perhaps a city or a certain part of the map.
These mills remind us of those that can be seen in Field of Cryptana, in Castile-La Mancha. Wouldn’t it be interesting to see Hoppip flying around these windmills too?
But the references to Europe are not only in the places in this new installment of Pokémon, but what the protagonist’s house also has many of them:
If we take into account the exposed tables, it can be observed the same windmills of the previous image, as well as a Sevillian one and what seem to be some houses typical of the Andalusian area.
The richness of landscapes in the new region
No doubt, Europe is characterized by having a very varied natureand that is precisely what we are going to see in the new Pokémon titles.
Not only did we see monuments or buildings in the trailer, but it also gave us time to find places like the one we leave you below:
Seeing Pokémon Scarlet and Purple are apparently based in Europe, it is likely that a place came to mind for many of us when we saw Stonjourner advance through this wasteland: the desert of Tabernas, in Almeria.
As has been seen, Europe has a desert, but it also has beaches, volcanoes and a multitude of mountainous areas, as can be seen in the following image:
There is no doubt that nature in this region is going to be the most varied. And if we add the open world to all this, the possibilities are endless. Although it has not been confirmed, we can practically guarantee that there will be Pokémonturas in this game.
The fauna of the place
But in addition to the flora, Europe also has a most varied fauna.
At the moment, we cannot talk much about it, since we have only seen the initial three, but we can speculate on what they will look like in their last evolutionary form based on what we know about them.
The logical thing here would be to think that Sprigatito
Now, personally, I like to think that These new starters will evolve into Pokémon that take animals from the Iberian Peninsula that have been in danger of extinction as a reference.
Thus, Sprigatito would evolve into a Iberian lynxFuecoco would become a giant lizard from El Hierro and Quaxly, for his part, would do the same by evolving into a Iberian imperial eagle.
Other details that could be shown in future trailers
Taking as reference the theory that has been commented on the initials, it is possible that we will see some new Pokémon, or perhaps a new regional form, which was based on some native animal of Europe. In this sense, it would not be unreasonable to see a new form of Tauros with black fur or a new Salazzle similar to Gaudí’s lizard.
Beyond the Pokémon, we could also see in future trailers more representations of iconic places in Europe.
Perhaps, some city will be shown that is in areas of Asturias or the Basque Country, and, of course, I would not rule out finding islands that we can reach on the back of some water pocket monster. Of course, this is just speculation, so we will have to wait to see if they become reality or not.
Now it’s your turn, Nintendo. Is there any reference to Europe that has not been mentioned? What would you like to see in these new titles? Leave us everything in the comments.
