Publisher and developer HiWarp originally announced that the beautiful aquatic adventure Naiad would arrive on the Switch in 2022. Obviously, that never happened, but after another two years of waiting, last night's presentation of Wholesome Snack finally delivered.

Naiad's appearance in the presentation was enough of a surprise, but the developer has even more magic in store as he announced that it will be dropping on the Switch eShop immediately! That's right, those in North America can immediately select this for $17.99.

You may have noticed that we only mentioned the NA eShop there, and that's because it hasn't hit European stores yet. The developer has taken over Twitter confirm that those with an EU account will have to wait until December 23rd to get their hands on this one thanks to Nintendo's “special holiday calendar”. Hey, I guess that's not far.

But back to the game itself. Naiad is a captivating swimming adventure where you play as a river spirit making your way downstream and helping your animal friends along the way. If you like casual puzzles, this might be for you — heck, if you like any game that's pleasing to the eye, then this might be worth a look.

If the trailer above didn't whet your appetite, here's a quick rundown of the game's features and some screenshots:

– A relaxing and healthy experience.
– Unique and dreamy images.
– Cute adorable animal friends.
– Fun and peaceful interactions.
– An original story about nature.
– Immersive music and sound design. A beautiful river to explore.
– Entirely made with own funds.
– Created with love by 'the developer himself'.
– No death/violence.
– No hyperrealism / last generation graphics.

If you only have a European eShop account, you'll have to wait on this one for another two weeks, but those in North America can dive in today — okay, don't sweat it too much!
