Gaming and stock market analyst Paul Gale stated recently in an X post that major developers and third-party studios are lining up “big” launch window titles for the Switch’s successor to make up for the missed Nintendo Switch’s iconic 2017 release – claiming that ” NS2 [Nintendo Switch 2] it will have some early notable ports, side-by-side releases, and exclusives.”
If true, it would explain why many major releases over the past year have skipped the Switch – not only due to the increase in hardware that will come with its successor, but also to launch the next iteration.
In the comments, Gale pointed to Game of the Year 2022 and 2023 winners Elden Ring and Baldur’s Gate 3 as possible titles for the second Switch launch. Other hits from recent memory, like Atlus’ Persona 3 Reload or Capcom’s Resident Evil 4 Remake could also be part of the lineup. Either way, as long as there is strong third-party support for Nintendo’s next console, no one will be able to say “Nintendo Switch 2 has no games.”
