Did anyone ask for a turn-based soccer game in the style of the XCOM saga? Heard kitchen! Football, Tactics n Glory is for you. We are facing a different game, which seeks to innovate and attract the public who loves RPGs in turns. However, it remains somewhat poor in terms of depth and, perhaps, does not convey too much glory to win, lose or draw just almost no match. Despite all this, it is a fun game, which fans will enjoy, and which is best tasted in short games.
The more difficult, the greater the feeling of victory
The title has a basic premise, bring our team to the most absolute glory going through the most insignificant divisions of the country. Introducing ourselves as a former player who had to retire due to a serious injury, we will take the reins of a new team, and we will have to channel the season from its beginnings to ascend by leaps and bounds. The first minutes of the game will be small tutorials to get the idea of what we have in hand. It will be important that we know what function to perform depending on the moment of the match or the remaining actions
Each match has 24 shifts per half and each turn has 3 actions. In our humble opinion, it is exceedingly short in the number of shares. The matches will only last 3-4 minutes and, with the passage of time, we will exploit both the “pilgrims”That the game allows us to make us know that we are going to win yes or yes with just 3 moves. We would have liked more depth in the match, something that only happens when we face very tough opponents, but that we can count on the fingers of one hand (and there are plenty of them). Practically, what we will have to boosting in excess are two positions: goal and forward. If we have a good goalkeeper and a good striker, we will not receive just goals (unbeaten goals are common) and we will score even if in front of us there is half a rival team (as you hear it …).
On the other hand, the rival, as a rule, always carry out the same actions or attack moves, leaving little to the imagination (almost always slipping towards the peak of the area and trying to pull without opposition). Rarely try to keep the ball on your feet, look for the dribble or make complicated passes to find the surprise. A pity, because what looked good, ends up being something monotonous with the passage of time
No player is as good as all together
The sports plot does not end in the field, it also has its particular importance the subject of contracts and training, as well as improve our field by spending money or signing. The sense of progression in this section is wonderful, going from being a team that played in a stadium with sidewalks to play games in a new generation stadium. As a good RPG, we must improve our players as they get experience, as well as channeling your workouts in one way or another, depending on our style of play. Although, in short, there will be skills that we will improve almost by default, while others will go completely unnoticed.
The leagues of the different countries have teams with names “fictional”That try to resemble the real ones, as well as (customizable) equipment similar to those of their homonyms. We could say that, within the teams, everything similar to reality is pure coincidence. However, we are allowed to modify the names and appearances of teams, outfits, players … so, if you have enough time and motivation, you can build an experience as close to reality as possible.
Surely it's ugly, but I have charm
Being objective, the title it is not a technical wonder, where it has some slowdowns that scratch a lot and annoy the experience, or the graphic. In spite of everything, it has a dress appearance, which does not clash with the title itself. The animations are correct and the celebrations will make us smile on more than one occasion for the stubbornness of the players or their overreactions (players celebrating as if they had won the Champions League scoring the honor after losing 5-1, for example).
During the matches, we will have ambient sound quite interesting That will put us in situation. Although some “commentator” is missing even if he speaks only once for each action. The soundtrack used in the other menus of the title has seemed to us correct without bragging, and, even, it becomes something repetitive if we spend a lot of time on the menus (something that will happen when we have to choose skills or techniques for our players).
Conclusions
The lovers of the RPG by turns and the soccer merge giving rise to a fun mixture although with small errors that, perhaps, could have been avoidable, such as an almost nonexistent AI or too "enhanced" plays. Nevertheless, if you are fans of a tactical and casual football, Football, Tactics N Glory is for you.
