Bloomberg also reports that it has heard from its sources that Nintendo has delayed the launch of the Switch 2 system until the first quarter of 2025 in order to give it a solid game lineup. The news publication also spoke to Tokyo-based analyst Serkan Toto, who believes the move will be a blow to Nintendo, which he says is “expecting pretty dry production this year.” That’s because Nintendo is making its big titles for the successor to the Nintendo Switch system.
“Nintendo is probably expecting pretty dry results this year,” Toto said. “The company will still try to hold on to blockbusters for the next console, so 2024 could see more remakes of old Nintendo hits. Either way, 2024 will be a lot harder for Nintendo without a new device.”
