The surprise hit has more on the way
One of the most popular releases of the year so far is the roguelike card game Balatro. Although it had some issues on Switch with it being temporarily removed from the eShop, it has since been brought back and has sold over a million copies across all platforms.
Now it looks like the game will get its first major update. It’s currently only confirmed for PC, but a console release is likely to follow. Here are the full patch notes of everything coming Version 1.0.1:

- Added toggle for ‘Reduced Motion’, removes swirling background and card circular motion
- Changed default backup tarot from Fool to Strength (when all tarots are on screen)
- Changed Gold Stake random seeds – now ensures that the first legendary Joker on that seed is the Joker you didn’t win the Gold Stake with (for Completionist++ hunting)

- Both Mad and Clever Joker changed – removed the ‘contains 4 of a kind’ effect, now applies to any hand containing ‘Two Pairs’
- Changed Yorick – old effect discarded, new effect -> gains X1 more every 23 cards discarded (starts at X1)
- Changed Magician’s Tarot – luck is now applied to 2 cards instead of 1
- Changed Midas Mask – now only applies gold enhancement to face scoring cards, costs $7 instead of $6
