Games Radar spoke with Randy Pitchford, head of development at Gearbox, to see what the company has on the horizon since it’s been a while since the last Borderlands game. Pitchford said fans won’t have to wait long to find out what’s next, hinting that an announcement is seemingly on the horizon. He al so said that he is very “confident that our fans will be very, very happy with the next video game project.” Here are some highlights from the interview:
At Gearbox’s next match:
“I haven’t been perfect at hiding the fact that we’re working on a lot of things, and we’re working on big things. I am confident that our fans will be very, very happy with the next video game project when we are ready to release it. And I will tell you that we’re not going to make people wait a long time before we release it.”
On more Borderlands spin-offs:
“We scored higher with the first Wonderlands game than we did with the first Borderlands game, so that’s something we can build on,” explains Pitchford. “I love fantasy. That’s why we made the original Dragon Keep DLC for Borderlands 2, because I love fantasy so much. Many of us at Gearbox love fantasy, and this gives us such a place to mess with it in the context of Borderlands’ themes and universe. I think it’s reasonable for our fans there to expect more.”
