Box Art Brawl – duel: Mario Golf (GBC)

Be sure to cast your votes in the poll below; but first, let’s look at the box designs themselves.

North America / Europe

This is very much in line with the Mario Golf series we all know and love. Mario stands in the center of the stage – the same model as we see on the N64 cover – with a bat slung over his shoulder after hitting what we can only assume is waist belt shot (at least he looks happy enough about it). The logo sits overhead as the track setting blurs in the background. It’s simple, but it’s effective.

This is a very different approach, but we’d be lying if we said we weren’t intrigued. The Japanese cover (called ‘Mario Golf GB‘ in the region) opts for a more paired-back design than the Western variant, with a sketchy aesthetic for Mario and his fellow golfers, whose giant heads hover in the background. It’s underrated, but it’s beautiful.
