As part of today's Nintendo Direct Mini, the 2K printer reveals a good choice for the Nintendo switch again. Bioshock: Collection, XCOM 2: Collection and Borderlands Legendary Collection all came to the concert on 29 May, bringing in a total of eight performances in one day.
It sounds fun – and, in particular, – but physical buyers will also be frustrated when they learn that not all of the content is included in cart boxes. All three sets come with an annoying new print, spilling the beans on download requirements that you will have to suffer to enjoy games.
The Borderlands is the greatest sinner; the virtual cartridge will only include the first game – Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition – though that requires an additional 6.6 GB download before it starts. After that, you'll need to download another 35 GB of data to install Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: Pre-Sequel.
The XCOM cluster is also mounted on an 8 GB cartridge, which carries two basic functions. Everything else has to be downloaded – 2K says this "will not exceed 24 GB".
Eventually, BioShock will be included in the 16 GB cart, but "the latest game content and add-ons will need to be downloaded".
In addition to being part of a collection, one of the benefits of buying a physical game is saving space in your small eShop theme system. In the context of the Borderlands collection (and possibly BioShock, looking at the game's cover), buying the game physically would mean you'd still need a MicroSD card to install all the content – Switch only has 32 GB of space to start, so there's no way to play without paying extra for additional storage.
If you there is are thinking of buying any of these collections, then, you may want to think to select a new MicroSD card of your console.
