Update []:: Steam's top seller appears to have had a technical glitch, and Valve has reportedly fixed it.
As explained Igrangonlinx Owner Liam Dawe, after Valve's January 14th – January 21st ranking update, it appears that the park deck was actually number four in best sellers, not number 47. In other words, sales did just fine during Switch 2 week.
“It's been pointed out that some clearly selling games have disappeared since last week. I've reached out to Valve to see what's going on … it seems that Valve got the message and they've updated it. Steam deck of the week globally Top seller for the week started on January 14 actually was 4.no 47. “.

Original story: The Steam deck is very focused on the PC market, but even seemingly unable to escape the excitement of the Nintendo Switch 2 announcement last week with a reported drop in sales revenue.
As pointed out by the entangled voxel (via steam deck), Valve's portable PC hardware regularly moves to “Top Sellers” chart on Steambut between January 14th – January 21st, it apparently “fell to its lowest global rating since its launch in 2022”. That briefly saw him drop from third to 47th. At the time of writing, it is now second in the rankings – so it's business as usual.
This is just an observation (And we sincerely doubt that the future of deck-in-deck is in jeopardy), but it goes to show how Nintendo had everyone's attention last week with its surprise (and long-awaited). Realistically, it looks like Nintendo should be in a very strong position with the Switch 2, given that the Switch has now moved over 146 million units worldwide.
The Steam Deck remains a great device if you're a user of Valve's Steam Service, and it's probably the standout gaming laptop on the market right now – allowing you to instantly download and play your existing library of digital games on the go.
Interestingly, Nintendo could be drawing some inspiration from PC hardware, following what appears to be the reveal of an optical sensor on the side of the Switch 2's left Joy-Con. The official Switch 2 trailer appeared to show mouse-style Joy-Con controllers.
In other Switch 2 News, this big announcement saw Nintendo's stock hit an all-time high.
