Final Fantasy director Naoki Yoshida said in an interview with the Easy Allies team that he’s open to bringing the massive Final Fantasy XIV to the Nintendo Switch 2. He says he wants the game on as many platforms as possible. The subscription-based Final Fantasy XIV is already available on PC, PlayStation, and most recently Xbox, so the next logical step for the franchise would be to make it available on the Switch successor. Here’s what he had to say about Easy Allies:
“I dream, or goal, for over ten years now is for players to be able to play Final Fantasy XIV regardless of device, and to be able to access the servers to go in and access the same world. … we’ve been talking about putting the game on the Xbox platform for years, and of course we’d love to have our title available on the Nintendo platform, and we want to continue our efforts. But it took a long time – we have literally been talking about Xbox for years, and now it has finally come to light. We will do our best and continue to work hard on it and continue our efforts. In the end, that would be cool – something we’d like to kind of explore and make a reality one day.”
