Yesterday we published a post implying that Nintendo and Intelligent Systems were working on another Fire Emblem game. The news came as internal codenames for Fire Emblem projects were shared on social media. Fire Emblem Three Houses was known as Iron17 and Fire Emblem Engage was known as Iron19 and it was debated what Iron18 would be, as it was not the codename for the Warriors spin-off Fire Emblem: Three Hopes. It has now been revealed that Fire Emblem Engage has finished production as early as 2021, although it was finally released in January 2023. This information came via the Australian Classification Board and USK in Germany. This has led to new speculation that there is another Fire Emblem game in development at Intelligent Systems that is believed to be a remake of Fire Emblem Genealogy.

According to the Aussie Classification Board and the USK in Germany, the production year of Fire Emblem Engage was 2021. Technically, the German site says “date of testing”. Maybe Nintendo sat on this one for a while or it took a while to finish. pic.twitter.com/957cHobmho
