While his patent lawsuit with Nintendo anger in the background, Palworld Developer PocketPair is not ready to completely turn his back on Mario home. Specifically, Dev would still consider the Switch 2 main target to connect to Palworld down the line, if it is powerful enough, of course.
This is according to Director of Communication Pocketpair John 'Bucky' Buckley, who recently said IGN That the Switch 2 connection “100% is worth considering” if the console is “enough pigeons”. He made it clear that the studio had no knowledge of the console specifications so far, but hey, we all hope to increase strength.
All this follows that Pocketpair “Really Happy” with his work on the Palworld version, Buckley, continued, something that left the studio that wanted to “get on more hands if possible”.
The switch feels like a natural goal of that statement (again, legal proceedings to the side), although Buckley said IGN that the port on the OG console is at this point basically beyond the question: “If we could make the game functioning on the switch, but Palworld is a huge game.”
Of course, Switch has been a home of many-ways in the last eight years, but we understand. Something like Palworld, on paper, feels like a title that would feel at home on the Switch 2 with his bigger requirements and a huge installation base, but would Nintendo really want to make a jump after such a public legal battle? HmmWe don't know.
The lawsuit between Nintendo and Pocketpair is still ongoing, although Nintendo recently received a handful of patents in the US that were relevant to cases, suggesting that things could become global in the coming months.
