Rockstar games have been blowing the internet this week with another official trailer for Grand theft Auto VI and has led to all kinds of discussions on the current state of industry, including future game prices (Yes, it appears again).
Former Rockstar animator Mike York, who had previously worked Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2Now he has entered into comments on how “detail” and the amount of “realism” in Novi GTA will justify their price while throwing a shade on the new game Mario Kart World and its prices – suggesting that Nintendo is not able to compete:
Mike York: “No other game has the details and the amount of realism that it does and that they will have when they are released, so everyone complains there only should grab, because no matter what the amount of this game costs, $ 80 or whatever, it's worth it. All these other games that come for $ 70, 90 Bucks, and I concerned that Mario thought Thinking that Mario is concerned with this game.
Mario Kart World will be sold on 80 dollars When started together with Switch 2 5. June 2025. Nintendo has already defended this new price – with Bill Trinen mentioning that he plays more than justifies his high price as a “richest experience Mario Kart” to this day:
Bill Trinen: “Whenever we look at a particular game, we just look at what the experience is and what is the content and what is the value? “… this is a game that is so big and so big and you will find so many little things you can discover. And there are some other secrets that I think people in the end buy and play the game, they will consider it probably the richest experience of Mario Kart they have ever had.”
So, from the perspective of Nintendo – the Japanese company actually believes that in this new game, Mario Kart has more than enough to justify its new expense. The previous game Mario Kart has now sold more than 67 million units on a global level on the switch, so if his success is anything to go through, this new entry in the open world should be fine.
Of course, the new GTA was also set on banks – with the Grand Theft Auto 5 to today transfer more than 210 million copies.
