Following the release of Bubble Bobble in late December, Hamster has now officially unveiled its first Arcade Archives 2023 release.
This time it’s Namco’s classic arcade space shooter Galaga. This title was first released in 1981 and is a sequel to the 1979 edition of Galaxian (previously released on the eShop last November). In this sequel, your task is once again to shoot every alien in sight. A sequel to Galage (Gaplus) also came out on Switch last year.
“The distribution of “Arcade Archives Galaga” has begun. The masterpiece of shooting games published by Namco in 1981. ACA 2023 opens Galaga! Please enjoy.”
Like all other entries in the Hamster’s Arcade Archives series, this one “faithfully” reproduces the classic arcade experience. It comes with modern improvements – including additional settings that allow players to change difficulty, display type and more. Here are some screenshots from Nintendo’s official website:
When released on the eShop, it will cost you $7.99 or the equivalent in your region. Are you excited about this? What other classics would you like to see Hamster bring to life in 2023? Let us know in the comments.
