GoldenEye 007 intermission music is a little different on Switch

GoldenEye, Intermission, Music, Switch

The release of GoldenEye 007 on Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack is very close. So Nintendo promoted the game on social media. For example, Nintendo tweeted footage of the Q Watch playing Golden Eye 007, which was the game’s pause music.

However, some people, including co-composers Graeme Norgate and Grant Kirkhope, have noted that the intermission music is slightly different from what they remember. The drop cymbal pattern is clearly missing and the snare has no reverb. Unfortunately, the former is also used in the Dam, Facility, and Elevator themes, so the slight changes aren’t just limited to the intermission music.

As for the cause of the problem, Digital Foundry’s John Linneman suggested that the issue could be due to emulation issues, as the Nintendo 64 is not easy to emulate. It is also not known if the problem is present in the Xbox version, which will be released on the same day as the Nintendo Switch version.
