The cancellation of E3 2020 has left space on the gaming event calendar, so IGN has stepped in to fill that void. IGN announced the digital “Summer of Gaming” digital event to take place in early June. So far, participating companies include "2K Games, Amazon, Bandai Namco, Devolver Digital, Google, Sega, Square Enix, THQ Nordic and Twitter", and more to come. Nintendo has never been featured as a text for this book.
More details will be forthcoming in the coming weeks, but IGN has already said that the digital event will include "a live broadcast and a detailed search program for IGN's integration of the game developer's work around the world". IGN also said that there would be "publisher presentations by IGN before and after interviews, interviews for remote work, hands-on demos and previews, gameplay, and parts of news downloading the biggest announcements". Given the "publisher" announcements, Nintendo Direct is out of the question. Finally, IGN states that "viewers around the world can also participate, post video reactions, vote on favorite ads, and more".
