The recently announced $100 interactive alarm clock, Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo, turned out to be a hit in The Land of the Rising Sun as I Nintendo Store suspended sales due to high demand. The company says it will switch to a lottery-type system, which is common in Japan. In a statement, Nintendo said it would “continue to gradually ramp up production.”
“Due to the extremely large number of orders we have received, we are currently suspending sales in the I Nintendo Store. We are preparing to change the I Nintendo Store sales method to a lottery for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, so please be patient. We are very sorry that not all customers are able to purchase the product. In order to deliver the product to as many customers as possible, we will continue to gradually increase production.”
