2023 promises to be a good year for league of legends fans (at least for those excited about the spinoff). We heard about two upcoming titles back in the hazy days of 2021 — Convergence and Song of Nunu — and now we know the former will be on its way in just a few weeks May 23.
The League of Legends franchise has never been averse to genre-hopping in its spinoffs — just look at the turn-based RPG Ruined King from a few years ago, or even the action-focused The Mageseeker from last month — and Convergence is no exception.
This time-traveling platformer from developer Double Stallion Games will see you take on the role of Ekk, a League of Legends champion, who must use his ability to manipulate time to protect the city of Zaun. Judging by the gameplay we’ve seen so far, this platformer seems to be heavily focused on combat, and hopefully the time travel mechanic will provide a fun twist as well.

CONVERGENCE: A League Of Legends Story is a story-driven 2D single-player action platformer. Make your way through the sprawling city of Zaun as Ekko with his ability to travel through space and time. He and his friends must work together to keep their city safe, but as danger looms and secrets come to light, Ekko realizes he can trust no one—not even himself.
Convergence: A League of Legends Story returns to Switch later this month.
