Publisher Dear Villagers has just released Mindcop on Nintendo Switch, a wacky ‘whodunnit’ adventure game where you play as a detective with the curious ability to delve into the minds of your suspects.
Developed by Andre Gareis, who spent six years creating the game out of a deep passion for the detective genre, Mindcop boasts beautiful cartoony visuals with noir-esque lighting and excellent voice acting that brings an eclectic cast of characters to life.
When interrogating a suspect, you can delve into their mind and solve brain puzzles to unlock clues and themes to use during the interview. You have five days to solve the murders, and every decision you make can potentially increase your case.
It sounds great and we love the whole early 2000s Cartoon Network vibe with the visuals. This could easily stand alongside something similar Ed, Edd n Eddy or Gemini Cramp. Just, you know, with a little more murder and stuff.

WHODUNNIT DETECTIVE GAME – Use your Mindcop abilities to uncover secrets and expose other people’s lies to find the real murder suspect in this town.
MINDSURF – As Mindcop you can try to sneak into the mind of one of the suspects. This plays like a real-time puzzle. Complete it and explore their “Sea of Minds” for clues and conversation topics.
TIME – You have 5 days to solve this murder and each action comes with a time cost. As Mindcop, you make tough decisions about what’s worth your time and what will lead you down a dead end street. Choose well and discover two different endings.
