On the eve of the arrival of the Switch 2, the Mojang developer announced that Minecraft would receive an upgrade of visual graphics. This was discovered during the latest broadcast of 'Minecraft Live' for March 2025. And the update was officially entitled 'Lively visuals»
The shots on the screen, taken on a top computer, is a visual upgrade that improves everything you see in the game but does not affect playing or mechanics.
Improvements that include volumetric lighting mean that you will be able to watch the sun's rays fall over the overhead, and each block will throw their own shade. The light will shine through your windows and you will be able to see a reflection in the water and on the surface of the metal blocks, while the spray of the underground brings a gentle glow with leaves and grass.
The mafia and objects will also have more glow – spiders will be more threatening in the dark, and the torches will throw a glittering track back into your construction. You can also see this in an action in a deep darkness. Sculk is now emission, immersed and creates a truly magic sight.
This update of visual graphics will initially be published for a Bedrock Edition with players who have also planned to maintain “soon”.
The team currently investigates how vibrant visual views go through “a series of devices” and hopes to convey this graphic “completely or partially” as many devices “as possible. Here are some screenshots to compare:
