Pocket Pair, developers of Palworld, are dealing with a patent lawsuit filed by Nintendo earlier this year. However, that doesn't stop them from continuing to support the game while the situation plays out in court. Palworld gets updates. However, a new update that was recently released for Palworld is particularly interesting.
The update removes Pal Sphere calls. If you recall, Nintendo has a patent for the way you capture creatures, including using throwable capture items in Pokemon Legends Arceus. Palworld has implemented a similar method for inviting friends. Now, with the update, characters no longer cast a Pal Sphere to invite friends. They just hold out the Pal Sphere and their Pal will appear next to them. Characters still capture Pals by throwing Pal Spheres at them.
